According to what has been published in their literature

I believe that Jehovah God, in his existence without beginning or end, one day decided to create something and out of nothing made the first “thing,” which turned out to be Michael the Archangel or the Logos (1). He said to that “thing”: “help me make the other things” (the sun, the moon, the stars, etc.) (2).

I believe that he ordered that first “thing” to come to earth and “that his life force be transferred to Mary’s ovum” (3). Michael disappeared from heaven, materializing as “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” (4).

I believe that, because he was not God, he was less than time and could not exclaim “I AM” like his Father Jehovah, but, like any mortal, said “I HAVE BEEN” (5), being “a god” (5a). When he died on a stake or piece of wood, his body without spirit was placed in a tomb. On the third day a bodiless spirit came out of it (5b).

I believe that Jehovah removed Jesus’ body and will possibly display it during the Millennial Age (6). I believe that Jesus, in order to let his disciples see him, materialized bodies (7). He ascended to heaven and remained seated for almost 19 centuries passively at Jehovah’s right hand, until the year 1914, when he began to reign, returning to earth that year in invisible form (8), marking by that date the generation which, according to the Creator’s promise, would not disappear before a peaceful and secure world was established (8a). I will admit this last point until our Leaders in New York tell us that it all was “a speculation of Jehovah’s People,” not an error of the anointed members of the Governing Body (8b).

I believe that we must not pray directly to Christ (9). He will never return to earth, but will reign with the 144,000 heavenly witnesses (10). I believe that he has the function of Mediator only with that group (11).

I believe that the rest of the witnesses, “the great crowd,” who will inherit the earth, will be content to live in a beautiful garden surrounded by exquisite fruits, which we witnesses, who will not go to heaven, will turn into a Paradise through “hard work” after removing the rubble of the old system after Armageddon (11a), and that we will have the status of “grandchildren,” not of children of God (12), and Christ will never be among us because he will remain eternally with Jehovah’s 144,000 heavenly anointed ones, among whom only North Americans such as Russell, Rutherford, etc. are identified (13), who will help Christ judge humanity (14).

CHRISTIAN REFUTATION OF THE JEHOVIST CREED

  • Christ was begotten, not created, Heb. 1:5, in the eternal Day of Yahweh.
  • Christ is not “a thing.” He is a Divine Person; he is the Lord, Jn. 20:20.
  • If Christ had been created, then there was a time when God did not have his Son and therefore was not Father. It would be improper to call him “Eternal Father.”
  • Christ made all things, not “the other” things, Jn. 1:3; 1 Cor. 8:6.
  • The words “the other” are not in the original Greek of the Bible.
  • To no angel did God say, “You are my Son” (begotten), Heb. 1:5.
  • If Christ is an angel or archangel, it is forbidden to worship him, Rev. 22:8-9.
  • Whoever worships an angel loses the eternal prize, Col. 2:18, Jehovah’s Witness Bible.
  • God commands that Christ “be worshiped,” Heb. 1:6; Phil. 2:10, proving that he is not Michael. See also Mt. 28:9; 18:17 and Jn. 9:38.
  • Let us beware of sects that present us with “another Jesus”, 2 Cor. 11:4.
  • Gods with a lowercase g are false gods, Ex. 12:12.
  • Isaiah 9:6 gives Christ the title of God with a capital G in the Jehovah’s Witness Bible itself.
  • There cannot exist two true Gods, nor one great and another small, Is. 44:8.
  • Christ directly rebuked the Devil, Mt. 4:10; Michael did not, Jude 9. This proves that Michael and Jesus are two different persons. Jesus cannot be Michael, nor vice versa.
  • Christ always speaks as God in the present tense (Ex. 3:14) with “I am”, Jn. 8:12, 24 and 14:6; Mt. 28:20. His expression I AM is so powerful that it knocked the Roman soldiers down, Jn. 18:6.
  • In Jn. 8:58 the biblical original says “I AM” and not “I HAVE BEEN”, as the Jehovah’s Witness Bible falsely translates it (verify this in the Greek-Spanish interlinear N.T. or in the one published by the Watchtower in 1985 in Greek-English, entitled “THE KINGDOM INTERLINEAR TRANSLATION OF THE GREEK SCRIPTURES”. The WT has not published it in Spanish. Astonishingly, the great majority of Jehovah’s Witnesses do not know this interlinear, even prominent elders of Jehovah’s Witness congregations; ask them about it and you will see).
  • Christ warns that whoever does not accept him as “I AM” will die in his sins, Jn. 8:24.
  • Compare Jn. 8:24 in the Jehovah’s Witness Bible with other Bibles. The Witnesses add words to the text that are not in the Greek original in order to soften the “I AM” where Christ manifests his Divinity.
  • Christ, referring to his body in Jn. 2:19, said that he would raise it up in three days. According to the Jehovist creed, almost 2000 years have already passed and he has not managed to do it. If Christ does not rise, faith is vain and we are still in sin, 1 Cor. 15:7.
  • The Jews devised the lie to deny Jesus’ resurrection, saying “that the apostles stole his body,” Mt. 28:13; according to Jehovah’s Witnesses, the falsehood is now greater, since they affirm that it was “Jehovah who took Christ’s body away”. (Book You Can Live Forever in Paradise…” p. 144/8).
  • It is not true that the change of doctrine about the generation of 1914 is “speculation of Jehovah’s people,” but rather a false and blasphemous teaching of the world leaders of the JWs, a lie that they attribute to Jesus Christ himself (Book You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth, p. 154). It is typical of destructive sects to assign their errors to their followers, never to their Leaders.
  • Christ’s body did not disappear; rather, it acquired the qualities of glorious bodies, 1 Cor. 15:40. “Materializing bodies” is a term proper to spiritists.
  • St. Stephen saw Christ in the year 33 C.E., not only in 1914, reigning at the right hand of the Father, Acts 7:56. To affirm that Jesus begins to reign only in 1914 is to devalue him. It is like saying that in a marital relationship, for example of 30 years, the husband began to govern his home only after 25 of those years had passed. If that were so, during that period he was a weak or devalued husband.
  • Christ will return visibly to earth, Acts 1:11, at the end of time.
  • Whoever believes in and accepts Christ becomes a child of God, not a grandchild, Jn. 1:12; 1 Jn. 5:1.
  • Jn. 5:23 says that one must honor the Son as one honors the Father, proving that they are the same God.
  • The eternal reward for those who are saved God has already prepared, 1 Cor. 2:9; the elect are not going to build it “with hard work”, as the book “You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth,” p. 159/6, falsely says.
  • Those who die in grace with “the Lord” will no longer have to work, Rev. 14:13.
